36 DE Graduates from 26th Batch are ready to expand CU Influence

On November 24-30, 2019 ACCU organizes the 26th DE workshop in Bangkok, Thailand.

36 newly Development Educator Graduates from Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, and Philippines will be joining DE family and bring back their enhanced values, awareness and knowledge on cooperative challenges and development issues back to their respective countries.

Participants had the chance to internalize and examine the translation of the unique values and principles of credit unions in the operation of credit unions in today’s competitive marketplance. The program enabled participants to identify the challenges and issues that threatens credit unions’ relevance in helping people improve lives.

At the end of the program, the DEs are able to understand their role as advocates of credit unions and deepen commitment to participate in credit union and community development.

The DE program creates awareness on high level development issues that affect the world - down to the people credit union serves. The role of credit unions in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals was discussed. DEs identified practical actions their credit unions can implement to help achieve SDGs.
